The History of Our Church
This church was a church planted by the First Baptist Church of Knox, IN in 1958 by the church planting missionary, Rev. Doug Cannady. Brother Cannady established the work in Winamac, by God’s grace and led the church to call as their first Pastor, Larcene “Bud” Hall (Wife: Lou), in 1959. The church first met in the eagles club building on route 14 and later moved to their present location on Monticello St and have met there ever since.
Pastor Hall pastored the church until 1991 when the Lord called him to glory. His testimony lives on in the town as one who was a soul-winner and had a great love for the Lord.
In 1991 the church called Brother David Lallathin as their Pastor to succeed Pastor Hall. Pastor Lallathin pastored the church until 2001 at which time he left to accept a call from another church.
It was at this time the church called Pastor Mark (Barbara, his wife) to be their Pastor. Many souls have accepted the Lord through all these men’s ministries and the First Baptist Church has a Missionary presence around the world.
We know that, because God is alive, we can thrive as we do the great work of building His church in Winamac, IN.. Won’t you come and join with us as we experience the Joy of serving Jesus, praying that we have an encounter with Him daily so that we are empowered to do His work?
